  • Soil and Location: Mulberry trees prefer fertile, well-drained soil and a sunny location. They grow well in warm and temperate climates.
  • Planting and Caring for Seedlings: Dig a hole about 30x30 cm wide and 10 cm deep. Place the mulberry seedling or seed in the center of the hole and cover it lightly with soil. Water regularly to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.
  • Watering: Mulberry trees need regular watering, especially during dry periods. Avoid over-watering to prevent root rot.
  • Fertilizing: Apply organic compost or balanced NPK fertilizer every 1-2 months to promote healthy growth and abundant fruit production.
  • Pruning: Remove damaged or diseased branches regularly to encourage strong growth and improve mulberry yield.
  • Harvest Time: Mulberries are usually ready to harvest about 3-4 months after flowering, when the berries turn dark purple or red and are juicy and sweet.
  • Harvesting Method: Gently pick the mulberries by hand or use scissors to cut the stem carefully to avoid bruising.

Planted them last jan 3. 95% are thriving really good. Leaves started to come out with fruits. I have noticed na mas marami syang lumalabas na fruits kaysa ilinois variety. Halos sabay ko lang din tinamin yung ilinois cuttings ko. Excited to check the difference of the two varieties.
